ABCD's mission

Our Mission -

To build a vibrant and eco friendly society by promoting human dignity through collaboration empowerment and Rights Based Approach for the poor and the marginalized in West Bengal and Sikkim, India. Our Goal is the integral development of all persons, irrespective of caste, creed or culture, so that they may individually and collectively reach the fullness of growth, to which God has destined human persons and communities.

Our Vision - A sustainable and just society where Gospel values of equality, love, peace and truth are nurtured and lived at all levels.

The main role of ABCD is to promote value-based, sustainable development process in the region of West Bengal, leading to the empowerment of the poor and the marginalised people. Today, our organisation is not just a coordination or consultative body. Though we continue to work closely with the Diocesan Social Service Societies(DSSS) and provide coordination assistance, we also undertake projects which are envisioned and implemented byABCD itself.

ABCD now has its own office located at 14A, Radhanath Chowdhury Road, Kolkata (Calcutta), very near its old headquarters - attached to Seva Kendra Calcutta.

New projects like Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR), Anti Human Trafficking and Safe Migration have been added to our existing roles, and ABCD hopes to convert these into very successful ones. Future projects have also been envisioned, and we hope to start these soon. Please see the Projects information page for more details.
